Self-Ligating Braces
Self-ligating braces are made from the same materials as traditional braces. However, self-ligating braces do not require the use of elastics, meaning fewer appointments and less friction being placed on the tooth. They use a specialized clip in place of elastics to help the archwire guide teeth to place. The clip helps reduce the amount of pressure being placed on the tooth and requires fewer adjustments because there are no elastics to replace. They Reduce the duration of treatment by 30%, Treatment is more physiological and less painful.
Self-Ligating Clear Braces
The self-ligating clear braces (also called Damon Braces) are claimed by its makers to be less painful, and faster in most cases as compared to traditional metal braces. These braces are barely noticeable until someone is at a point-blank range. They have clips instead of metal and the bracket itself supports the arch-wire in its place. These require less frequent check-ups, and may not require tooth extractions or palatal expanders as a part of the treatment.
The clear brackets blend in with the natural colour of your teeth, which makes it less revelling and has an improved aesthetical look.
Metal (Traditional) Braces
Metal braces are the most common type. They are popular with teenagers as they can be brightened up with different colours to make the smile unique. They are made of high-grade stainless steel brackets, which are fixed to your teeth and connected with arch wires.

Ceramic braces have the same design as metal braces, but the brackets are made of ceramic material that matches the color of natural teeth.
